Vision Screening
Why are these visual acuity tests done?
- It is part of a routine eye exam to screen for vision problems
- To identify an eye problem
- To determine if you need glasses or contact lenses to improve your vision
- When you obtain or renew your driver’s license or for some types of employment
These examinations serve to protect the employee from accidents due to visual impairment, and their value in preventative medicine should not be underestimated.
These tests may include all different functions of the eye such as the measurement of the ability to see near and far distances, the ability to see in colour as well as to check for gabs or defects in your field of vision.
